As part of the Open Studios Brandenburg 2026, a walk-in installation was created in the studio of sculptor and painter Birgit Knappe, a space that lies between miniature world, memory space and playful imagination.

 

The starting point was not a clear artistic theory, but rather a shared joy in world-building, storytelling, and close observation. A landscape gradually emerged amidst castles, forests, marketplaces, and small scenes, reminding some visitors of their childhood or inspiring them to dream – and prompting others to consider fundamental questions about how we perceive and shape reality.

 

The following impressions do not document a finished "state of the work", but rather an invitation to linger, discover and associate.
