Stories have probably been a part of my life for as long as my fascination with science, nature, and human development. During my youth and university years, I began writing fantasy novels—initially more out of an inner quest than with any intention of publication.
To this day, writing remains a special way for me to explore the world and give expression to inner images, questions, and experiences. In recent years, alongside longer novel projects, I have increasingly written children's stories, in which some of the same themes reappear in different forms: imagination, relationships, wonder, and the question of how we encounter the world.
The following texts and excerpts are not complete literary “products”, but rather exemplary glimpses into different imaginative spaces and narrative worlds.
"The Unmirrored One" (2008)
The Unreflected was written as the second part of a novel trilogy that had grown over many years, an attempt to explore questions of reality, memory, and identity in narrative form. The novel combines elements of a fantastical world with experiences and tensions of the present, moving between inner searching, friendship, loss, and the longing for orientation in an increasingly fragmented reality.
The sample chapter provides a first glimpse into this narrative world.
"The Story of Little Nepomuk" (2023)
The story of little Nepomuk tells of a small creature who doesn't know who or what he really is. On his journey, Nepomuk encounters many different animals and gradually discovers something about himself, about friendship, fear, belonging, and the beauty of a living world.
The story is aimed at children, but is also written for adults who have retained a sense of wonder, imagination and subtle nuances.
The sample chapter gives a first impression of the atmosphere and tone of the story.
