Connector

Trust and trusting relationships seem to me to be among the most precious resources of our time. Far too often I have witnessed people with good intentions failing to recognize one another, instead wearing themselves down as role players in battles over positions or differences that, in retrospect, prove to be insignificant. Especially in competitive or political arenas, potential resonance around a shared concern is overlooked.

My wish is to bring people together in such a way that, despite all their differences, they can recognize what connects them. And most of the time, I don't even have to "do" much. It seems to be in my nature to create an atmosphere in which people can show their true selves. The rest then falls into place naturally...

 

I often fulfill this role as a connector informally, simply through my manner and by valuing people for who they are. However, I also frequently design events and processes explicitly around this goal, so that people can explore their connections with one another and find joy in supporting each other.

 

A key digital platform through which I promote and highlight such connections is the website of the research project "A Mindset for the Anthropocene" (www.ama-project.org ).
